The Yak-52 is a Soviet trainer aircraft which first flew in 1976.
34 Years later it is still being produced now in Romania by Aerostar, which obtained manufacturing rights. The Yak-52 was originally designed as an aerobatic trainer.
Since the early 1990s many Yak 52s have been exported to the west.
There were approximately 1,800 produced to date, most now fly in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
